Nijmegen

The city of Nijmegen, located less than 10km from the German border, sits on the bank of the river Waal and is the oldest city in the Netherlands. Past and present go hand-in-hand in the city, with historic buildings and modern architecture interspersed throughout Nijmegen.

Today, Nijmegen is a lively, youthful city, home to 170,000 inhabitants and 20,000 students who attend Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Nijmegen is the European Green Capital for 2018, being the first city in the Netherlands to be awarded the prestigious title.
